Use Homedex with Claude or ChatGPT

Free, and no key or account needed. Homes come from estate agents' own websites, and every enquiry goes to the agent's own website.

Add Homedex to Claude

In Claude, Homedex is a custom connector. It works on every plan, including Free (Free plans can add one custom connector).

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
2. Choose Add custom connector.
3. Name it Homedex and paste this address: https://api.homedex.uk/mcp
4. Leave the advanced settings empty. There's no sign-in.

Then ask, for example: "Find me a 3-bed house in Folkestone with a garden."

Add Homedex to ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, Homedex is an app. Homedex isn't in ChatGPT's plugin directory yet, so for now you add it yourself. That needs Developer Mode, which is on paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu), not the free plan.

1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps (called "Apps & Connectors" in some versions).
2. Open Advanced settings and turn on Developer Mode.
3. Back in Apps, choose Create.
4. Name it Homedex, paste this address: https://api.homedex.uk/mcp, and choose no authentication.

Then start a new chat, turn on the Homedex app, and ask.

Other AI apps (MCP)

Homedex is an MCP server. Its address is:

• Apps that take a remote server: use Streamable HTTP. No login.
• Apps that only run local servers: a small local bridge is coming soon.

Tools:

• search_listings: homes for sale or to let in a town, outcode or postcode.
• get_listing: everything about one home, by its Homedex number.
• area_stats: sold-price figures for a town, outcode or postcode.
• coverage: an estimate of how much of an area Homedex has.
• nearby_sold: recent sales near a postcode.
• health: checks the service is up.
